reviewing old favourite books || ft. riddhi *ೃ༄

hey everyone! today’s post is a bookish collab with riddhi @ whispering stories. it has been forever since i last did a bookish post, so, i’m excited for this collab!😄 check out riddhi’s blog @ whispering stories and @poems and poesies – she mainly writes bookish posts, and music reviews, advice & her poetry is amazing~ thank you so much for doing a collab with me💕

as the title says, we’re going to be reviewing our old favourite books – books we used to be obsssedsd dobsessed abscess obsessed (finally-😂) with years ago. we’ve both reviewed 5 books, and in this post, you’ll find riddhi’s reviews, and mine on her blog.

❒ The Faraway Tree:

Okay, I’ve grown up reading Enid Blyton books. I love her short stories, but I loved the Faraway tree the most! I loved all those adventures the kids had with Moonface, Silky and Whatzisname. I could not help but imagine myself right there with them, and having all those adventures. Aah, it’s a good book, guys, read it if you haven’t- even if you’re a grown up!

E – I love this book so much! and the short stories by Enid Blyton

❒ Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew:

Okay, so these were THE thing in my school back when I was a middle schooler, and I loved them! I mean, I think that’s where my love for mystery sprouted. I loved reading all about the crimes Nancy, Bess and George would solve, it was just so fun!

❒ Harry Potter

You’d be lying if you said you haven’t heard of Harry Potter. I read these books during the summer vacation of sixth grade, and I remember reading those the entire day! I literally finished the books in 8 days- Order of Phoenix being Order of Phoenix took me a couple of days, but I just loved them so much! I know JKR has said bad stuff, but you cannot deny that Harry Potter is elite.

E- honestly, I haven’t even finished reading the whole series yet. I didn’t get a chance to – but I agree, the HP series is elite.

❒ Sudha Murthy’s short stories:

Okay, some of the short story compilations were non-fiction, so I can proudly say that I have read non-fiction as a kid! But seriously though, these books were really cool, and like the author’s experiences are so interesting and well-written, you can’t help but read them!

EI used to read collections of Sudha Murthy’s short stories too! and still do.

❒ Thea Stilton and Mouseford Academy

Okay, ngl, I didn’t like Geronimo Stilton books a lot, but I loved reading about the Thea Sisters, and especially the Mouseford Academy ones! Also, that author is a genius! I recently went to a bookstore, and all the series’- Thea Stilton, Geronimo Stilton etc. still continue to this day! Like, just wow!

and, that was it! i hope you enjoyed reading.🤎

have you read any of the books mentioned? what are your favorite books from your childhood?

ahhhh the faraway tree was like *THE* book that got me into reading when I was like five- EE. 😌
And of COURSE gotta love Harry Potter; I read it when I was six haha-
Sudha murty!! Almost never see her in the blogosphere huh, but I loved reading those short story books.
And honestly, I didn’t like the Thea Stilton books much. 👀 I read like eight of them because two of my friends were really into those books, but I think I should’ve read them when I was like seven- 🥲

  2. You guys obviously both already had great taste as kids! 😂 Harry Potter has always been my biggest obsession ever, but I would be lying if I said I never had the Enid Blyton or Nancy Drew phases. My friends and I would even play Nancy Drew at recess and fight over who would get to be George…
